From the moment the District of Columbia was created, its been disenfranchised.

 

Never receiving representation in Congress, from inception to the modern day, Washingtonians have contributed to every corner of this country's existence, and have received silence in response.

 

Now, we face a compounded enemy, in the form of not only the same anti-D.C rhetoric we've always experienced from Congress, but also from the President themself.

 

Never before in recent memory has an Administration ever been so hellbent on not only denying access to the representative democracy every other American enjoys, but also destroying what little ability Washington has to govern its own affairs as a city.

 

Tired of constantly being told we'd have the basic tenets of America fulfilled "next election", and forced to go on the offensive as our rights to self-governance and freedom from oppression were stripped away, we are a collection of; teachers, restaurant workers, lawyers, doctors, clergy, and other everyday people who call Washington home, and refuse to see it, each other, and our neighbors, treated as afterthoughts and second-class citizens, for a moment longer.

 

We're here to fight for Washington, long after the headlines fade, and the hype drains out, we'll be here, and we'll continue to be until D.C receives its due - the full promise of Liberty.
